History Inquiry Question

What are our responsibilities as citizens in acknowledging and addressing historical issues such as aboriginal children going to residential schools?

To address these historical issues we must make monuments and museums to acknowledge and learn about these historical issues. We want the next generation to learn about the past problems so they can avoid making the same mistakes. We can address these issues by speaking with those who were affected and find information that we are possibly unaware of. With this new information we can make online websites and public presentations to talk about these issues in depth.

To solve this issue, Prime Minister Harper issued an apology to all those affected by the residential schools. Also, the Truth and Reconciliation commission have documented the true story of what happened in the residential schools, a testimony from those who ran the schools, and experiences that have been reported by those who survived.

Quality of Life in Iran

Iran Iran is a country in Asia with many different types of food and clothing that we aren't used to in Canada. A trip to Iran would lead to many shocking and amazing discoveries that you never knew about the country. Although it is not perfect, there are many things about Iran that will make you change your mind about travelling there.

Quality of life in Iran Iran is in the middle on the Quality of life index. It is 97.32 out of 200.00. While Canada is 167.80 out of 200.00. You would have to get used to the low quality of life if you are a Canadian like myself. Iran's purchasing power is quite low compared to Canada, at 43.13. Next, the climate in Iran is very high. It can reach temperatures up to 74 degrees Celsius. Ouch! That is painfully hot. In Canada the average is around 25 degrees Celsius in the summer. Finally, Iran's health care and safety are moderate on the quality of life scale. Canada's healthcare is one of the best in the world, so that low health care score in Iran might take some getting used to if you get sick on your trip. Clothing in Iran Believe it or not Iran actually has a country wide dress code. Men cannot wear sleeveless shirts or tight pants. While females have to wear long and loose dresses that cover their body, and woman's head and hair must be covered. Most of the stereotypes about what Iranians wear are wrong. Like that stereotype that all Iranians wear all black head covers but they actually wear bright colorful and beautiful head covers. Iranians take much pride in always looking their best. They take great care in their appearance. The clothing Iran differs from what we wear in Canada. In Canada a common clothing choice is Joggers and khaki shorts in the summer. While in the winter we wear sweatpants and winter coats. Common Dishes in Iran A trip to Iran will show a stunning variety of culinary delights and delicious meals. While in Canada we have delicious treats like beaver tails and pancakes! Some Iranian delights are Jansen which is a beef walnut stew. Bademjan is an eggplant and tomato stew. Baghali Polo is rice with dill and fava beans. Obviously good food is not a quality of life issue for Iranians. They take lots of pride in preparing their dishes especially for tourists. Iranian dishes have been praised by many people around the world. Economy in Iran The average yearly income in Iran is 17 000 000 Rials. (Iranian currency) That in Canadian dollars is only $470.00! That means that Rials are approximately worth 0.000041 dollars in Canada! Iran actually has the second largest economy in the Middle east, falling short to Saudi Arabia. Iran also ranks second in world natural gas reserves, and 4th in proven crude oil reserves!

Conclusion So, in conclusion Iran is an mediocre country to live in. It has a wide variety of dishes, with good healthcare but a poor purchasing power. Although compared to Canada it is quite a low quality of life, so  it would take some getting used to if you were to ever move there.

The Harden Vol. 1 is a great choice of shoe if you are trying to save money. It's the cheapest shoe on this list, coming in at $160.00. First, the Harden has a wonderful cushioning system with full length boost making sure you have a soft landing when coming down from a shot, acrobatic layup, or a massive dunk! Also, the traction on the Harden vol.1 is exceptional on a clean court. Since the traction is made for James Harden it is nice for making those quick crossovers or those nasty stepbacks, to leave your defender in the dust. On a dusty court, it's still pretty good but you will need to wipe every 3-5 plays. However, if you are looking for a high cut shoe for ankle support, you’ll love the next shoe!

Harden Volume 1

The next shoe on the list is the Nike Lebron Soldier Tens. It is a high cut shoe made for big men making those quick and powerful post moves. But it is very expensive coming in at $210.00. First, the traction is a translucent out sole that attracts lots of dust. On clean court's you’re fine but if you play outdoor or on a dusty court, don't be surprised when you slip on every play. Since its a high cut the ankle support is fantastic, Locking you down so you never roll your ankle like Stephen Curry. Although it's quite heavy but if you're not the flimsiest person on the planet you'll be fine. If you need a little more than mediocre traction the next shoe will be your absolute favorite.

Lebron Soldier 10

The final shoe on the list is the Kyrie twos. It is the best traction on the market. I can promise that you will never slip. But coming in at $180.00 it is a little expensive for those trying to save money. First, the Kyrie two has a fly knit upper that supports the ankle nicely when making crossovers and hesitations like Kyrie. It has a low to the ground feel and is made for speed. You will be able to bolt up and down the court making sure you’re always in the play. The Kyrie is also very light, improving your speed even more. It also has a strap that falls over the laces that locks you in nice and tight. Next, the Kyrie has a small zoom unit in the heel making sure you have a soft landing when coming down from a layup or a jump shot.

These shoes are the best of the best. One for ankle support and stability, one for all around performance, and one for speed and traction. There is a shoe for everyone on this list so I hope my essay helped you decide what shoe to invest your money on. 5 Ways You Can Help Your Kids Eat Healthier

These are the decisions that will affect your childs future!

Are your kids too busy with school and sports to eat healthy and get all the proteins they need? Here some factors why your child is not eating healthy and how they can improve their diet.

Does your kid play tons of sports and participate in after school activities? This could be a factor of why your child is not eating healthy enough. Since they have so little time to make something healthy they choose the fast route of grabbing an unhealthy snack from the cupboard, o they can get to where they are going faster. A way you can prevent this as a parent is make precooked meals for your kid on days when you know they will be in a rush. Just slide it in the fridge and tell your child to heat it up when they get home. So they can have a fast and healthy meal. This strategy will work because instead of your kid eating an unhealthy snack food they with have a nice small meal ready for them to eat in the same time it takes for them to pick an unhealthy snack.

These are some snack foods that your child may be eating!

Another factor that influences unhealthy habits for your kids is the amount of sleep they get. If your kid is stubborn and won`t get up for school in time they won`t be able to make a healthy breakfast to start their day. Or worse, they may not get any breakfast at all! A solution to this issue is to make your child breakfast on the go. So when they wake up make them get ready for school then hand them a bagel or another breakfast food that they can eat on the bus or on their walk to school. Also, you could demand for your child to go to bed earlier so they are not as exhausted in the morning. I also know many cases where the child is staying up very late playing and watching videos on their phones. A solution would be to make them charge their phones in the basement so they can get to bed at a decent hour.

All of these are legit problems that young adults face today. If you use these solutions you will have a more healthy and happy child!
